Mark Engebretson
Mark Engebretson began his career at the Valley-Lake Boy's Home,
Inc. in April 1978 when hired as a part-time Group Supervisor shortly
before graduating from Minnesota State University - Moorhead. By
September 1978, he had assumed the positions of Counselor and Assistant
Director. In November 2000, Mr. Engebretson was offered and accepted
the duties of the Executive Director. Along with an experienced,
dedicated staff, Mark has guided the development and growth of a
respected regional residential treatment facility for boys. Mark
and his wife reside in Breckenridge and are the proud parents of
three children.

Mary Hammer
Mary Hammer started working at the Valley-Lake Boy's Home, Inc. in
July 1988. She began as a full-time counselor and then became Assistant
Director in 1999. She graduated from MSU – Moorhead with a degree in
Criminal Justice and Political Science. She did an internship as a
juvenile probation officer and has had additional work experience as
a correctional officer at the Becker County Jail. Mary is married and
has two children.

Shayne Davidson
Shayne Davidson is a counselor at the Valley-Lake Boy's Home, Inc. and
has held that position since 1999. Prior to that, he worked at Valley-Lake
as a group supervisor for two years. Shayne graduated from Minnesota
State University – Moorhead with a degree in Criminal Justice. Shayne
lives in Fargo, North Dakota with his wife Pam and son Mitchell.

Joanna Etzler
Joanna Etzler began as a Group Supervisor in 1992. She came to Valley-Lake
Boy's Home, Inc. with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology from
the Minnesota State University, Moorhead. In 1994, Joanna became a Counselor,
and moved to her current position as Program Director in 2002. Joanna lives
in Breckenridge with her husband and four children.

Brenda Gjesdal
Brenda Gjesdal has been employed since July of 1979 as our administrative
assistant. Brenda lives in Wapheton, North Dakota with her teenage daughter.

Carol Gerber
Carol Gerber started her employment at the Valley-Lake Boy's Home, Inc.
on Feb.1, 2005 as a Group Supervisor. Prior to her relocation to the
Breckenridge/Wahpeton area, Carol worked with a traumatic brain injured
client. She also has employment experience in the administration field.

Karla Littke
Karla Littke has worked at the Valley-Lake Boy's Home, Inc. since 2000.
She began as a group supervisor and has been the Case Manager for the 90
day Program since August 2004. Karla lives in Wahpeton, North Dakota.

Deb Bulson
Deb Bulson began to work as a Group Supervisor in 1998 following an
internship with this facility. She earned an associates degree in
mental health from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton,
North Dakota. Deb lives in Breckenridge, Minnesota with her daughter.

Linda Kutzer
Linda Kutzer is employed as the cook for the Valley-Lake Boy's Home,
Inc. She began her employment in June 2004. Linda lives in Campbell,
Minnesota with her husband and two children.
